A Two Le Monde
Check out a reworked version of A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free) from the forthcoming Megadeth album United Abominations (Roadrunner Records, May 15th) here. The new version of the song also features Lacuna Coil singer Cristina Scabbia.
I can’t say I was a huge fan of the original A Tout Le Monde off of Youthanasia (Capitol Records 1994), so I really had no reason to hear it redone. It definitely sounds cleaner and bigger than the original, but it makes me wonder if any band really needs to remake any of their old songs? I understand that the original may not have been recorded the way it should have, or the video wasn’t given any rotation on MTV at the time, but I’d honestly rather hear a new song on a new album than one dusted off and remade. Leave the old songs to live albums and greatest hits.
