Heavy Metal takes itself too seriously
I learned something today: Metal can’t laugh at itself.
Our loyal readers (All 30 of you fuckin’ ROCK btw!!) will notice we pulled a recent Valentine’s Day post. Reason being, we put up a fake photo that featured one of my metal frontman heroes. Earlier today we received an email from the webmaster of his band’s site telling us to, “Take it down. It’s Fake”.
Yeah, you think? A 5 year old would know it’s fake. Give me a goddamn break. It was a good natured (and hysterical) spoof. No one in their right mind would ever believe such a thing was real.
But hey, in the metal world we don’t take shit from anyone. We’re angry and pissed off and full of rage. Speaking of, whatever happened to angst? I mean, angst was really big in the 90’s. Not so much these days.
I say, BRING BACK THE ANGST !!
As a sign of peace to the person or people we here, at MetalBlogger, might’ve upset I’ve decided to put up a photo of the late great Dimebag to remind us to just get along and that life should be a party. Getting bent over small shit is a waste of time.
Wow. Fresh out of the gates and we’re already getting hassled by the machine. Gotta love it! Up the irons!!!
I remember angst…we had it in the 80’s too, but it was more techno and suicidal (as compared to the pissed off, kick your @$$ angst of the 90’s). Yeah, miss that stuff man…
