Cornell splits with Audioslave = Rage 2 - Electric Boogaloo?

 Audioslave

According to reports, Chris Cornell has left Audioslave due to unspecified “irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences,” according to a statement, which concludes, “I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors.”

I can’t see this being a huge shock to anyone connected to the band, as Cornell’s second solo album “Carry On” is due May 1.  This, plus the fact that that guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk recently announced they are reuniting with former Rage Against the Machine vocalist Zack de la Rocha for a “one-off performance” at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in late April, leads me to believe this isn’t really news to anyone other than the fans.

Could a Rage reunion tour follow?  One can only hope.

  1. Cornell should team up with jerry Cantrell. That would be awesome.

  2. “Alice in Soundgarden” would make for a great ‘Super Group’. I had read that CBS/Mark Burnett originally wanted Alic In Chains to be invloved in “Rock Star”, instead of SuperNova. But Jerry didn’t warm up to the idea.

Wasn’t Jerry in Temple of the Dog?
